Welcome to sicsisters.com. We're kind of a big deal ... at least we are in our family and our family is probably bigger than yours. We started this site as a way to keep in contact with each other as we are geographically scattered and as a way to get to know each other as adults. This will be an interesting endeavor as the 3 older sicsisters each have a sicsister 10 years her junior. Yes, our Mom was more or less pregnant for 20 years and has been married to our Dad since 1971. This consistent age gap provides a unique glimpse of the world through our common origin yet generationally filtered perspectives.
For instance, recently 75 and 78 were discussing the awareness they had during elementary school of the possibility of a nuclear attack toward the end of the Cold War. 85 chimed in saying, "Wow! I didn't realize the Cold War was so real to you guys. In my experience it's just information in a text book." 75 and 78 then remembered that at the time of the Cold War they were trotting little 85 around to their friends (yes, 85 is a pony) who were enamored by 85's cute speech impediment. Of course she wasn't aware of any "nucweeawe frwhet" she was busy being cured of "huewr yangwidge" impediment.
Thus we got together with our bad selves and decided to share our musings with each other via a website. We hope those who stumble across sicsisters.com find a contemporary or at least a little chuckle. If we're not your cuppa...read something else. There are a lot of options out there.
